MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Membership is open to registered Corporate bodies who are legitimately in the business of outdoor advertising and whose Chief Executive/Director is registerable with APCON under Decree 55 of 1988.

 

Membership

There are two categories of corporate membership namely:

  1. Provisional Membership shall be for a period of 12 calender months during which time the company so graded shall satisfy the executive committee of its proficiency in the practice of Outdoor Advertising. The Executive committee shall confer full membership and issue certificate as it deems fit.

 

Authority to Register

The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) is an official body of the Association of Outdoor Advertising Companies operation in Nigeria, with the sole authority to register all corporate bodies fully engaged to Outdoor Advertising Services and do business within the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

Eligibility

Applicants applying for membership of the Association shall satisfy the Executive Committee that they are bona fide Outdoor Advertising Companies and have satisfied the conditions laid down by the Executive Committee namely:

Registered Company: The company must be registered Limited Liability Company.

  1. Manpower: Relevant qualification in the decree 55 of 1988 and the association's recommendation on it shall apply.

  2. The personnel shall show evidence of adequate and experienced manpower in the following key positions and possessing relevant qualifications.

  3. Director/Chief Executive must be a Nigerian by birth in accordance with the indiginazation decree........ of 1972 and must be versed in the business of advertising, marketing or mass communication or other related fields, with at least 5 years experience on a managerial level with reputable and relevant organisation.

  4. Head of production must be versed in the production of Outdoor Advertising Structures with no less than 5 years in similar position with a reputable Outdoor Advertising Company. A beginner in the business must have a minimum of 5 staff for construction/Billposting.

  5. Accommodation/Facilities: The Company must possess an accommodation capable of housing all the departments of Outdoor Advertising BUSINESS.

  6. Must own all construction or erection equipment.

  7. Must show evidence of a reliable means of transportation for construction and posting staff.

  8. Must have an office in each area of its operation supported with minimum staff requirement.

  9. Must not adopt the house colours/design or name of existing Outdoor Advertising Companies and must avoid anything that is likely to cause misrepresentation or conflict within the Association or between members of the Association or confusion to the members of the public.



CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION OF INCOMING MEMBERS
  1. APCON CERTIFICATE OF ALL DIRECTORS

  2. CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION

  3. FORM CO2 AND FORM CO7

  4. WRITTEN APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION

  5. PASSPORT SIZED PHOTOGRAPH OF ALL DIRECTORS

NOTE:

The above listed documents are for sitting before application form can be sold to any prospecting company wishing to join the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN).

  1. The CEO must have 5-years COGNATE EXPERIENCE at the Managerial level.

  2. Payment of a non-refundable application fee of N50,000:00

  3. Payment of a non-refundable screening fee of N100,000:00

  4. Application form not submitted within 6 months of purchase will be rendered invalid.

  5. Provisional membership shall not be less than 24 months before enjoying the status of full membership.
